Update

Well it's been a while since my last post so I figured it was time to give an update. I've had several doctors appointments since I last blogged. Everything with our sweet girl is perfect everytime! So thankful! We haven't had one issue or scare with her this whole time and know how blessed we are for that! At my last appointment we did the glucose test and I passed that but doctor did say I was pretty anemic. So now I get to take an extra iron pill everyday. Man! I just got into a good routine with my prenatal vitamin and now I have to throw an extra one in the mix that I can't take at the same time! Oh well, gotta do what ya gotta do right?

We tried to get a 3d ultrasound of her sweet face on the 20th. She would not cooperate! She had her legs in front of her face and her hands. She would move but only to kick at us and show us her feet. She loves to sit with her ankles crossed. I must say that is adorable!! But, we now have a billion sweet pictures of her little feet. We did establish she is for sure a GIRL! Our baby MADISON!

It's been a busy month for us! Baby brother also graduated on the 20th. Can't believe he is a high school grad! We had a great time seeing the fam and the weather was pretty nice too! I was VERY thankful it wasn't a scorcher or pouring down rain! Here are a few pics from that night.

The ultrasound was great she in the perfect spot this time. In one shot she had her little feet crossed at her ankles. We ar so in love!!

16 week apt.

We had our 16 week appointment yesterday. Everything was perfect. We got to hear little ones heartbeat. It was in the 140s...girl?? We will find that out, hopefully, on the 13th of this month. We can hardly wait! Since it was our 16 week appointment I had a bunch of blood work done to test for some birth defects and other things. Hopefully everything will be perfect; we won't know for sure for a couple weeks though. I feel so blessed that everything is going so smoothly for us. It seems like since the very first day there hasn't been a single issue. Pray that it continues!!
Jake tells me everyday how much my belly is growing. It seems like everyday I wake up and it's a little bigger. I can't believe I'm all ready showing this much. I guess when your a short girl baby doesn't have much room so everything gets pushed out. I'm really beginning to see that it's going to be a long second half pregnancy!
Well, that's all for now. Just thought I'd give a little update!

Riley is here!!

We are all so excited to announce that Miss Riley Renee Storm is here. She was born on Feb. 5th. She was 6 lbs 5 oz and 18.7 inches long. Riley is absolutely precious and Mommy is doing great! We are all ready wrapped around her little finger!

Now that she is here, Jake and I are even more excited to have our little one around! Jake is still hoping for a boy, but Riley told me she really wanted a girl cousin to play with. We will see soon. I have an ultrasound scheduled for March 13th and I can not wait! I'm so ready to go shopping and of course my mom can hardly stand the wait as well!!

12 weeks appointment

I had my 12 week appointment yesterday and the dr said everything is looking great! Still right on track for Aug. 17. We weren't expecting to get anther ultrasound but the dr decided I may still be too early to hear the heartbeat on the doppler, so we got to see baby! It was the most amazing thing ever! It's awesome how much the baby has changed in 5 weeks. It actually looks like a baby now! The whole time she was checking things out baby was kicking and moving like crazy! Baby even gave me a happy birthday wave...ok maybe it just moved it's little arm but I like to say I got a wave. After we were done she gave us both the ok and said boy it's a squirmy little stinker. I was so excited and could not stop smiling all day!
As for an update on Tiff...Looks like Miss Riley will be joining us today! She went to her dr appt yesterday and her bp was high so they decided to keep her and induce this morning. We are all so excited to meet our newest little family member!!

Ice Storm 2010

Well so far we still have electricity yay! We are hoping it stays that way. The good thing about this storm is that I get a three day weekend, which means I get to have lots of rest!! I'm almost 12 weeks now thank goodness! I'm starting to feel much better, not feeling so crummy and not getting as tired as I was getting. I think things are definitely changing for me. I'm a stomach sleeper and have noticed just this past week that that is not working for me anymore! When I try to switch over to my stomach, wow! It feels like my abs are going to rip. Guess some stretching is happening! Our next appointment is on Feb.3rd, can't wait to make sure everything is still going perfectly. It's also my birthday so I think it's going to be a very good day!
On another baby note Jake's sister Tiffany is due very soon and it's looking like we could be meeting our precious niece, Miss Riley very soon! We are so excited! Keep us all in your thoughts and prayers!!

Trying out this whole blog thing.

Well we (mostly me) decided that a good way for everyone to keep up with us is to get a blog going. I'm not making any promises on how often it will be updated but I'll try! Big things have been happening in the Gifford home. As most everyone knows we are expecting Baby Gifford around Aug. 17th. We are so excited and can not wait to meet our little one. So far doctor says everything looks great, we even got to hear the heartbeat all ready. It was racing away at 176 bpm (Mom says its gonna be a girl) I'm 9 weeks. I feel pretty good most of the time. Main complaint is tiredness, a little morning, afternoon and night sickness and LOTS of heartburn. (Mom says it's gonna have lots of hair!) Jake has been pretty good at putting up with me and has even taken on some cooking and cleaning! (isn't he sweet?)
As for other non baby news, I graduated in December with my masters in school counseling. I have no clue what I'm gonna do now, but hey I'm well educated! Jake just recently passed his firefighter 1 class and is now on to emt classes. We are busy people!
Well guess that's all for now. Hope you all are doing well! Oh and I can't forget to mention our first child...Tuff is doing great as well!
